Billy Goat Trail

I finally made it back to the Billy Goat Trail after a 15+ year hiatus.  What an amazing set of views - and a real gem so close to Washington DC.  We hiked on the "A" section of the trail.  Click on any of the pictures for a larger view.

Looking west from the eastern part of the trail.  The river looks peaceful here, but a sign warns of seven fatalities in this area last year.
There is a lot of smaller rock scrambling on the trail.  This was by far the longest.  If you take the trail from the west you climb up - from the east you descend.

Looking east.  The trail itself is busy, and you can see quite a few kayaks in there river and climbers on the Virginia side across the Potomac.
